Hazardous Area Electrical Design

Hazardous Area Electrical Design

Electrical installations require careful planning and design to ensure a safe and compliant installation for equipment to be installed within explosive atmospheres (flammable gas/vapour & combustible dust) and are required to comply with the applicable regulations.

Bluefield uses a practical approach in the design of electrical installations to achieve the most efficient methods of design. Ideally, electrical equipment should be installed outside of the hazardous area where possible

The general requirements for the design of electrical equipment for explosive gas atmospheres are detailed in IEC Ex 60079.14, EN 60079.14 and AS/NZS 60079.14.

Bluefield has the capability of carrying out the electrical design under ANZ Ex, IEC Ex or the Euronorms (EN) for installations in international situations.
